THE POWER OF THE TONGUE/MOUTH IV

As you are aware, the tongue is a little member of the body, but did you know that although little, it is capable of defiling the whole body?
Did you also know that you can be religious but your inability to control your tongue can make your religion look useless? (James 1: 26)

It is unfortunate how some believers are not able to cautiously weigh the words that come out of their mouths, knowing very well that we will be judged by them. The Bible says in Matthew 12: 36-37,
\”But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned\”.
The words we speak do have the ability to either justify or condemn us. Ponder over that!

Considering the power the tongue possesses, we need to be careful about the words we speak no matter what the company we find ourselves in.
Our words have to be seasoned with salt. We must avoid corrupt communication and let words that are capable of edifying others come out from our mouths, like Ephesians 4 : 29 puts it.
If the words of your mouth have the ability to either grieve the Holy Spirit or minister grace unto your hearers as a believer, why will you not choose the latter?

It is my prayer that we will not be condemned because of our choice of words but rather, that the words of our mouths will build others up and even pull them to the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus.

\”Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man\”. – Collosians 4 : 6

May we receive grace in this regard. Amen 🙏🏾
