\”…For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.\” (Matthew 12: 34b)
When you are filled with bitterness, pain, anxiety or have evil intentions, your mouth will definitely not allow you to speak good things, neither will you be able to choose your words rightly if you have a loose or unclosed mouth.
If you are not able to restrict or control your mouth against the issues of life, against your present situation (which to you, it’s nothing to write home about), you simply open yourself up for destruction.
Proverbs 13:3 says, \”He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.\”
In order to stay alive, it is important for you to guard your mouth especially when you feel hopeless. When the path before you seems blur and you do not know what to do at that particular point, the best thing you can do for yourself is to carefully use your mouth to speak words of life, and fully rely on God. Remember, \”a man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors (sinners) shall eat violence\” (Proverbs 13:2)
If you decide not to rely on God but begin to speak words of defeat, it will only land you in destruction.
Let us try very hard to guard our mouths and we shall surely see, handle and live the best lives we aspire to, or pray to live.
\”The mouth of a righteous man is a well (fountain) of life…\” (Proverbs 10:11b)
Live righteously and maintain a mouth that has the ability to produce a well of life.
